Mastering 2026 with Clarity

Leadership OS: Session 7
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12 from 9:30 AM–11:00 AM

Q3 : Are You Empowering Others - or Doing Their Work For Them?

What are you doing for others that you could be equipping them to own?

That question will guide our next Eagle Mastermind session as we continue our third-quarter focus:

EMPOWER

Last month, we focused on empowering ourselves - taking ownership, taking action, and making the next move that belongs to us.

This month, we shift the focus outward.

Empower Others

Remove Obstacles. Provide Resources. Build Ownership.

One of the most important responsibilities of leadership is helping other people become more capable, more confident, and more willing to take ownership.

That does not mean having all the answers.

In a recent conversation, Wayne Crull shared a perspective on leadership that stayed with us:

The job of leadership is to remove obstacles and provide resources — not solve every problem or have every answer.

That is a powerful frame for empowerment.

Because when leaders step in too quickly, solve too much, or carry responsibilities that belong to someone else, they can unintentionally limit the very growth they want to create.

True empowerment requires something different.

It requires clarity.
Trust.
Support.
Space.
And the courage to let other people think, decide, stretch, and grow.

In This Session, We’ll Explore Five Practical Ways to Empower Others

Ask
Use better questions to help people think, develop ideas, and own solutions.

Weed
Remove obstacles, provide resources, and align people with their strengths.

Release
Let go of carbon-copy leadership and make room for different approaches.

Protect
Give permission, allow recoverable mistakes, and create space for growth.

Respond
Offer timely support without rescuing or taking ownership back.

These principles apply whether you are leading a company, managing a team, mentoring someone, working with a client, or navigating important relationships.

We’ll talk about delegation, ownership, mistakes, strengths, problem-solving, and the leadership courage required to let people do things differently — even when their approach is not the one you would have chosen.

The goal is not to create copies of ourselves.

The goal is to build people who can think, act, grow, and lead with greater ownership.
